That means we have $6,800 LEFT TO RAISE — and only until LABOR DAY to do it!

For me, these matches are not a game. Behind every donation are real families I know and care about whose housing-and very lives- are on the line.

Right now, we have a refugee single mama of four who needs rent assistance ASAP before her apartment files for eviction.

From Ellie Maya: 🎉 IT’S MY BIRTHDAY MONTH!! AND I HAVE BIG NEWS: A $10,000 MATCH!!!! 🎉

As I celebrate my 36th birthday this month, I have a lot weighing on my heart.

I have dear immigrant friends living in the agony of seeing family members detained by ICE- and fearing that they may be next.

I know refugee families struggling to get by after losing food and medical assistance.

I know single moms going through evictions because they got sick and missed work.

I know children who are at risk of sleeping outside because their parents can’t afford another night in their hotel.

I have friends who are hungry. Friends who can’t afford the medicines they need. Families who are doing everything they can and still unable to afford basic necessities.

All this to say: I HAVE WORK TO DO. Big, important work. ❤️

So this year, my birthday wish is to raise $10,000 to help these families! Though my actual birthday isn’t until September 15th, I am starting early because ‼️🚨RENT IS DUE TODAY🚨 and we don’t have time to wait!

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Some generous donors have collectively offered a MATCH!! That means EVERY DOLLAR donated through this Saturday September 6th will be MATCHED up to $10,000! 🎉

🥵 HEAT ADVISORY & KIDS LOSING THEIR SHELTER 🚨

These are Jasmine’s kids. Their car is everything to them. It’s how their mom works, earns money, and keeps a roof over their heads.

Unfortunately, the car has been in the shop this week, leaving Jasmine unable to work. Now everything is sn*******ng at once: her hotel room AND her car payment are due, and she has no funds to pay either.

🚗 GOAL #1: $300 — SAVE THEIR CAR
The car payment is priority #1 because when Jasmine can't afford their hotel room, this car becomes their only shelter.

🏨 GOAL #2: $450 — KEEP THEM IN THEIR HOTEL
$450 will cover their room and keep these kids safely indoors during this dangerous heat.

Today, I received a much-needed reminder that God still does miracles—and that He cares for those who are "crushed in spirit." ❤️

Last night, I went to bed sad, praying for Bethany*, a mom I love dearly. Her landlord was planning to file for eviction today, and we didn't have the funds to stop it.

I've known Bethany since I started this work in 2020. She's a hard worker with a humble, grateful attitude. Recently she had a serious health scare with hospitalization. She fell behind on rent, and the possibility of losing her home sent her into a deep depression.

But this morning, she called me with good news!

First, her apartment manager emailed to say she was giving her another week before filing eviction. She had favor because she's always been such a good, respectful tenant.

Second, a lady she helped in the past, unexpectedly sent her money, bringing her balance down to just $400. 🙌

Another mom we love, Rose*, has been worried sick because her electricity is scheduled for disconnection tomorrow morning. This morning, her neighbor left her a note on her door reminding her of God's promises in the middle of hard times. It also said,

"May you feel that He's as close to you as a gentle hug." ❤️

I am grateful for these much-needed reminders that God hears our cries in our darkest moments. And I'm grateful that we get to be vessels of His love.

Now, this is where we come in.

🏠 Bethany needs just $400 to prevent eviction.
💡 Rose needs $350 by tomorrow morning to keep her lights on—and keep the food in her refrigerator from spoiling.

Together, that's $750

God has already made a way for so much of the need.

🚨Help a Dad Battling Cancer Save His Home! 🚨

Meet Darrell (pictured), a local dad of two. He has a genuine warmth and kindness toward everyone he meets. Behind his smile, you wouldn’t know he is in an excruciating battle with colorectal cancer. He has endured multiple operations, chronic dehydration, and days when he can barely swallow—or even sit down without pain.

While fighting for his health, he fell behind on rent. Darrell has eviction court Monday. He lacks just $600 to keep his family in their home- sadly, that $600 is eviction fees that the leasing company refuses to remove!

Time and time again, we have seen that just a few hundred dollars can be the difference between stability and homelessness. It can be the bridge that keeps a family in their home, prevents a downward spiral, and even keeps children from entering foster care.

Can you help Darrell and his children keep their home?

MADDIE HAD A STROKE AND NEEDS OUR HELP 😭

Maddie is a single mom loving in a local hotel. She works hard but makes just $10 an hour. She has no safety net, no family to fall back on—just her determination to provide for her young son. ❤️

Tragically, a few days ago, Maddie suffered a stroke. 💔

Her doctors have told her she needs time to recover and keep her stress as low as possible. But instead of resting, she's lying awake wondering how she's going to pay for the hotel room where she and her son live.

Her hotel payment is due THIS morning and she is not able to pay it. She's not physically able to work yet. The stress of this situation is putting her at risk of another stroke! 💔

We want to give Maddie an incredible gift- the ability to focus on recovering without the fear of sleeping on the streets with her son.

🏠 We need to raise at least 3 weeks of hotel rent for her- $375 per week, or $1125 total.
