So I did a thing and jumped back into oil painting. It was a bit intimidating to start again after 7 years, but once I got the first paint on canvas I loosened up and really enjoyed the process. The old weathered barn reminds me of all the things I love- from Papa’s home place in Mississippi to cornfields in Grandma’s backyard in Illinois to horses foaling in Thailand. But mostly it just helped me remember life is full of simple strokes of color that build up in layers to produce something special even if it looks a bit worn.
Feedback is always encouraged but be gentle. I’m just a baby at this😅

Today I officially moved my earrings out of the wonderful little shop Christina Mann
It was a bittersweet day for me and for Christina. She is a true friend and a genuine shop owner. I highly encourage you to check out her store and support her and all the vendors. We need more people like her in China Grove, building community and supporting small businesses.
Thank you Christina for being the best and believing in me! I will always treasure the experience.
