New Year, New Us!

For 15 years, Foxy Fancies has been the small (and occasionally neglected) eclectic repository of all things created by Silver Kitsune, but over time, the name and branding has become less of a good fit.

Behind the scenes this branding change has been in the works since summer of 2025 and now on the first day of a shiny new year, it's time to officially launch the rebrand of Foxy Fancies as Pale Horse Fabrications.

The new name and logo was inspired by two things: an illustration by Frank C. Papé from "Figures of Earth" by James Branch (1925)(second slide), a print of which was gifted to me many years ago by my Gran. (A print which has also inspired work published under my pen-name.) And my love of chess, both as a game and aesthetically.

I've used the knight figure as a logo before, on the back of my stage persona's business cards that also bore the tagline "have thong - will travel" as a nod to one of my father's favorite Westerns. Bringing that motto and imagery back around to this soft relaunch felt so very right because while being home in my workroom is one of my happiest places, I can't deny how much I'm gone from it for performance as well.

PHF will continue to offer the same services and expertise that Foxy Fancies always has, but there are so many plans for expansion in the future that the old name simply couldn't contain it any longer! The Foxy Fancies Faux Feather Fans will remain in our inventory under that name as an homage to the little shop title that could.

Never satisfied with being static, it's time to saddle up and ride!

Now that it's at its new home, I can post the knitting tool roll I made for an avid textile artist! I checked out a few designs online and didn't like any of them precisely so I drafted my own pattern! This has 12 slots for crochet or knitting needles, a zippered pouch for for accessories, and trifolds up nicely with two large snaps! Made it a fun pattern because the recipient is a gigantic nerd!

I think I like this a little bit better than some of the commercial patterns I've found for tools because it is completely washable as well.

A happy little terrier got a new coat yesterday!

Double layered quilted cotton trimmed in faux shearling. All materials were either reclaimed or left over from a previous project, making this coat a quick project!

Sherpa, a corgi/jack russell mix, is a very discerning client and refuses to wear anything but couture specifically made to her measurements by her auntie.

I spent the last few days painting a inspired stained glass piece because I could just sit with it on the couch across my lap and paint with the TV on. Now it just needs to cure for 7 days, be sealed with some clear coat and it can go up! There is a space in the large window just above the tv in my living room that already has eye-hooks set into it that might even have held a stained glass piece for the previous owner!

This is Gallery Glass, specifically the translucent ones, although I did use some of the enamel and they are also light permeable. If you are uncertain which colors you are going to use, you can also just get a couple of the larger bottles of the clear medium and high use the same sort of finely powder mica pigments you can use for resin or bath crafts to color them instead.

I got all of mine at so this whole project cost me maybe 20 bucks total Including the picture frame I used for the base!

Lots of firsts!
-made a custom fitted wig head with hard foam and felt
-cut a too long wig down and made tracks out of the cut length (which was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be while also being a lot harder?)
-I've sewn in extra tracks before... But never pink one, so it counts 😂
-done a wolf-cut on a wig, results to come!

Things I've learned: painters tape doesn't have enough hold for hair, use the smallest, shortest stitch length for sewing the tracks down, flexible glue over the stitches BEFORE you cut it down to a good length for sewing in, always use a curved needle!
