I don’t always choose a gemstones because “it’s my birthstone”.

Sometimes I just like the color, and honestly, I think that’s a perfectly good reason to choose one. BUT there’s something different about learning what a gemstone has represented throughout history and realizing the meaning happens to fit a season you’re living through.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve fallen so in love with creating gemstone jewelry. The stone can start as something beautiful, and somewhere along the way, it becomes a reminder.

We found out a little while ago that The Always Busy Mama was named a 2026 CT Best in Jewelry Runner Up, and honestly, we’re still taking it all in

August babies… did you know you have THREE birthstones?! 👀

And no, someone didn’t just randomly decide August deserved more options.

The birthstone list we know today has evolved over time, which means some months ended up with more than one recognized stone, and August has one of the most interesting lineups.

And as an August baby myself, I’m admittedly partial to that beautiful green Peridot. 💚
