A little look at why I was missing last week at the market, I had a beautiful wedding to attend in Oregon, my son and his gorgeous bride. I am however back at it today with a nice sample of picture jasper. A "donut" of swirling brown, cream and ochre suspended from a sterling bail that reminds us to do those little things that make all the difference in a good life. The chain is accented with tiger eye that helps to keep us grounded. Today is the Street Food Festival, perfect for a holiday weekend. Hope to see everyone there, if there is a little rain remember we are undercover and dry. Have a spectacular day and add in a big round of laughter as well!

Often referred to as "Scenic Jasper" or "Landscape Jasper," its warm tones of tan, brown, and beige mimic natural vistas. When cut, the stone reveals intricate bands and shapes that strikingly resemble rolling desert hills, windswept plateaus, and jagged mountain horizons. It predominantly forms when silica-rich volcanic fluid or mud flows into gas pockets and fissures within cooling lava. Indigenous tribes of North America deeply revered the stone as a direct, physical link to Earth's conscious energy network. Shamanic lore speaks of Picture Jasper as "Mother Earth speaking to her children," containing hidden visual messages, histories, or warnings from the past etched into its scenic rings. It was also widely utilized as a protective talisman to ward off malicious spirits or ensure success during vision quests.

Happy Mother's day to mothers of all kinds. I chose these to feature today as I thought that maybe mothers are alot like these stones. Shaped over time by infinite minutes that change us, left open to always love and show that inner beauty. Weathered stone, misty mornings, and hidden crystal-lined caverns. Each cone-shaped druzy drop is naturally formed with a softly rough, open base that reveals its organic beauty, while the sparkling crystalline surface catches the light with a subtle shimmer. Raw nature and understated elegance, lightweight and easy to wear, these earrings bring a touch of wild luxury to everyday moments or special occasions alike. Join us today for the Mother's Day Market and celebrate your special mom. Just a note that I will not be there next weekend but will be back on the 24th. Shop will also be closed. Have a beautiful day full of beautiful minutes!

Druzy (or drusy) quartz is created when tiny quartz crystals form over the surface of a mineral, creating a sparkling, sugar-like crystalline coating. This natural phenomenon happens over thousands to millions of years, drop by drop, as mineral-rich water deposits microscopic crystals into cavities and over stone surfaces. Quartz has long been regarded as a stone of clarity, balance, and gentle amplification of energy, while druzy is often associated with lightness, renewal, and quiet joy. Its shimmering surface has inspired legends of hidden treasure and sacred geodes—little pockets of earth’s secret beauty brought to light.

Mother's Day is coming up quick, next weekend so it's an added incentive to visit the market today! Check out these sweeties, beer quartz, 14k GF and black spinel. A little on the petite side and so much sparkle! Strawberry festival is today and the day should be just about perfect! Hope to see you all at the market!
Beer Quartz is often associated with warmth, grounded abundance, and easy confidence. In crystal lore, its rich amber-gold tones are thought to carry the energy of stability and prosperity, encouraging steady growth rather than sudden bursts of change. It’s considered a stone that supports creativity, self-worth, and a calm kind of optimism—the feeling of being rooted enough to flourish. Many people are drawn to it for its comforting energy, as though it holds the glow of late afternoon sun, inviting you to slow down, savor life, and trust your own path.

Labradorite is always one of my favorites, one of the most unique stones as it can be any color it likes and it glows from within, so mystical. This one is paired with a little black spinel, oxidized sterling and 14kGF. Wonderful day at the market and today the fun continues. It's so nice to see everyone come back and visit with old friends and new. Beautiful weather on hand for today so a perfect time to wander and discover what's new. Have a great day, explore and discover what excites you!

Inuit legend tells that the Northern Lights were once trapped in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. A warrior supposedly struck the rocks with his spear to free the lights, though some remained trapped within the stones. The spiritual meaning of labradorite is fundamentally rooted in transformation, protection, and inner sight. Known as the "Stone of Magic," it is a favorite among healers and spiritual seekers for its ability to clear mental debris and reveal one's true potential.
Labradorite is a striking plagioclase feldspar mineral renowned for its spectacular iridescent play of colors known as labradorescence. While the stone itself often has a dark gray or black base, moving it in the light reveals shimmering flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, and sometimes rare copper-reds. This unique "frozen fire" effect is not a surface pigment but a physical phenomenon caused by light diffracting between microscopic mineral layers inside the stone.

Abalone, across diverse coastal cultures, they are seen as more than just ornaments; they are sacred vessels that connect the human spirit to the ocean. Also abalone was my very first piece of jewelry, an abalone ring I got while I was on vacation in Nags Head, NC. I think I was probably eight! That connection to the sea is probably a big part of why I am such a fan, other than it is gorgeous. Opening weekend is coming up soon, we will be open Saturday and Sunday, ready to start the season and happy to see all my favorite people. Enjoy the day, a little rain has washed everything clean and sparkly and cooler temps will be nice. See you next weekend!

Titanium druzy is a striking gemstone created by bonding a thin, permanent layer of titanium v***r onto the surface of natural druzy quartz or agate. This process, often called chemical v***r deposition, results in a brilliant, iridescent metallic finish that can range from vivid rainbow hues to deep blues and golds.

We will be setting up Friday to bring you everything you need to jump into the season. Expo will open on Saturday and run thru Sunday. Hope to see you all there! Enjoy the day and Happy Easter!

Stichtite is a softly luminous mineral known for its gentle shades of lilac, lavender, and deep violet, often found naturally intertwined with rich green serpentine, creating a striking and earthy contrast. It was first discovered in Tasmania, Australia, at Stichtite Hill, which gave the stone its name, and remains most famously sourced there, though it can also be found in parts of South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Brazil. Formed through the alteration of chromium-rich rocks in serpentine environments, stichtite carries a sense of transformation within its very structure. Though it does not appear in ancient lore due to its relatively recent discovery in the early 20th century, it has become deeply valued in modern metaphysical traditions as a stone of compassion, emotional healing, and forgiveness. Often associated with both the heart and crown chakras, it is believed to encourage a gentle release of old wounds while opening the way for love, patience, and deeper understanding. Sometimes referred to as a stone of forgiveness, it is thought to help dissolve emotional tension and support a more peaceful, heart-centered perspective, making it especially meaningful for those drawn to growth, healing, and quiet inner balance.
