Welcome to my Wicked Uniquities, I handcraft Sterling Silver wire wrapped jewelry and other wearable artistry. Alongside these I create one of a kind resin and acrylic poured paintings, home decor pieces and functional art.
I have always felt connected to art whether it be of my own creation or a fellow artisanโs inspiring work. Art to me is soul food and soulful; as a creator I understand how one truly puts themselves into their work and when that is visible, I become even more akin with the piece. Observing how art can make me feel has helped me in my own creative process as I try to allow my heart to flow into everything I create, adding a little piece of me and the light within. Iโve found that even on the โbadโ days my work has a way of reflecting such he(art)!
Since my youth I have had my hands in some form of creative medium. One of my first passions was writing; I lost my mother when I was only 11 and I found poetry to be the best outlet for my many confusing emotions. Pen and paper were a great coping mechanism for me and allowed the seeds of more visual art to be sown.
Later I dabbled in pencil sketches, landscape drawings and watercolor painting. Followed by Polymer Clay sculptures and bead making. Dreamcatchers, jewelry beading work, and h**p macramรฉ came next. Then at last I was introduced to the world of Wire Wrapping and was instantly hooked. Collecting semi-precious gems as a child and my love of geodes and rockhounding, wire wrapped jewelry just seemed like the next step in my art journey. Almost 11 years later I have been on and off practicing, creating, learning and growing with this medium and every minute has been worth it!
Along the path I found Acrylic Pouring which led me to Resin Art both techniques forced me to step back and enjoy the literal flow of the art. Together my jewelry and my fluid art give me a beautiful yin and yang of creation. One requiring planning and detail, structure and strength to unite different elements. While the other allows me to apply a freeform flow and meditative release of color onto blank space.
I honestly love what I do, and Iโm truly blessed to be given the opportunity to create, grow as an individual and raise my son full time. I thank my husband every day, but also my family, friends and clients for all the support as we share this journey!
