In Philippians 3, we see an unexpected connection that turns things upside down 😉
When we compare ourselves to others- their marriage, family, finances, body… we can easily feel discontentment and lack of gratitude.
Paul tells us that when we compare anything to knowing Christ Jesus our Lord, everything falls short!
Later in the passage, in a familiar section, Paul says he has learned the secret of being content in any circumstance. The key is knowing that our God will meet all of our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. He gives us the strength to be content in Him!
Instead of comparison bringing discontentment, this comparison brings contentment which stirs up thanksgiving in our hearts for Him! 🙌🏼

What kinds of words do you speak? I am reading a book called A Woman's Words by Chrystie Cole. She reminds us that, as women, we have a divine calling to reflect specific characteristics of the nature of God -

"This calling is reflected through each woman's capacity to invite, nurture and partner with those in her life. These capacities are simply attributes of God that reflect His character...This divine calling has been entrusted to women. God created [us] to reflect His nature - bringing strength, life, aid, support and refuge in and through their relationships...Living out God's call..will, in large part, happen...through the words we use-whether written or spoken."

We have the unique opportunity to speak LIFE to those around us. This is something we can pray and ask God to help us with. We can probably all think of words others have said that wounded us. We have the incredible opportunity and power to speak blessing and life to those around us- "Be quick to listen slow to speak, and slow to get angry" (James 1:19)

Chrystie says, "Words are not insignificant. The words others have spoken to and about us have shaped how we view ourselves and how we live in this world. Likewise, the words we speak have the power to shape the internal and external world of others in our lives. We must carefully consider what we say..."

Let's pray together that we will be women who speak words of life that build up, nurture, encourage, and inspire others. I know that I need moment by moment help from the One who is our perfect helper!

As followers of Jesus, it is so important for us to read and know our Bible.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work."

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Joni Eareckson Tada was paralyzed as a teenager. I heard her speak this weekend. She has been in a wheelchair for over 50 years and experiences constant pain. What does she do in her suffering? She recites scripture. She declares God's promises out loud. She remembers that God is faithful and speaks truth so she can hear it. She has memorized so much scripture that it is a part of her. When she is squeezed in her suffering, Bible verses pour out. Don't you want to be a woman like that?

As seasons of motherhood change, is it possible to be fruitful? Absolutely! The secret is in Psalm 1. When we delight in Him+ meditate on truth+are rooted deeply in Him, we are at unshakable and flourishing! In EVERY season.
What stage of motherhood are you in now? Sweet friend, when you’re planted+nourished by, His Living water, you can bear beautiful fruit.

“Do I act like a woman who reads her Bible?” My mom used to ask this bold question. She knew that this precious book is alive + active, teaching us, correcting us, training us, making us more like Him! Spending time soaking in His word transforms us because it is all one story pointing to Jesus, and He is the one who changes us!

Preach the Gospel to yourself every day. Why? Because we forget. Each day, we need to be reminded of the good news - the truth that we were dead in our sins, and God loved us so much that He sent His son to pay the penalty in our place. Then in amazing grace, He clothed us with HIS perfect record, and allows us to draw near to Him in sweet ,intimate fellowship. It is just too good.
Every day, though, we forget We think we need to earn or strive, or that we can do things on our own without our Heavenly Father's help.
These are two books I love for daily reminders of truth. (Peek in the comments) They both take you to scripture and to Jesus every morning for fresh mercy and a reminder of who He is and who we are in Him!

Leg warmers and leotards😉
I grew up in the age of Jane Fonda! 🤩This picture is a Christian aerobics record my mom (in blue) made in 1982.
Mom taught us how important it is to prioritize exercise and healthy food. What I didn’t know, though, was the importance of what we put on our skin! As a teen, I loved to go into that lotion store, smelling and choosing my favorites. I did not know that the toxic ingredients in our products absorb into our bloodstream. 😳2-1/2 years ago, I met and she introduced me to and .living. I am so grateful! Once we know, we can intentionally choose products that support our body with nutrients, not toxic burden.
