Projects & organizations vary, but everything is done with love & the purpose of serving others. We started in 2019 when I found out that teens in foster care often end up w/ little, to sometimes nothing, for Christmas, especially those in group homes. This broke my heart & I knew I wanted to do something to help. Molly was just learning how to sew & kept begging to do more projects on the sewing
machine, so we decided to make & sew rice packs for heating/cooling. We raised $200 & bought 20 $10 gift cards to donate that year. All 3 of the kids even joined together to make handmade cards for each of the gift cards. We loved doing the first fundraiser so much we knew right away we wanted to do it again the following year. In 2020 we decided to make & sell reusable napkins (we're an environmentally conscious family -- or at least we try to be) as our fundraiser. It was a lot more challenging thanks to unexpected breakdowns of sewing machines & an adoption thrown into the mix as well. Thankfully, God had our backs though. We were gifted (by an incredibly sweet teenage boy & his amazing mom) a new sewing machine to help us complete our orders in time. Thanks to their generosity as well as everyone else's, we were able to raise $500 plus a box of toys for a toy drive. This year it's been made clear that my heart is at its fullest when I'm serving others. I've been working on this year's fundraiser since spring. It only became clear today that I should start an actual FB page for these fundraisers. This will allow me to utilize it all year long to help promote other community serving opportunities. After all, there's plenty of needs that need to be filled all throughout the year, not just at Christmas time. Thank you all for being here & helping us make a difference in our community!
