Carla Francis had an interesting encounter at a recent National at San Diego. Here it is in her own words:
My partner and I were playing Open Fast Pairs on Sunday at the San Diego Nationals, when I suddenly realized we were playing against Benito Garozzo! He was a nice opponent and I only recognized him because his partner keep calling him Benito. I had read the article about him that morning in the tournament paper. In the two board match up, we got an above average board and a below average board. Whew! It was exciting for me, playing against a member of the Italian Blue Team from 1961!

We hope you all win big and get those red and gold master points. Our clubs are closed this week, Tues., Wed. and Thurs (Aug 29-31, 2017). Redwood Bridge Club will be open Labor Day, in Castro Valley as all our games swing back into action.
