In 2002 I moved to Portland, Maine from Northampton, Massachusetts to study graphic design at the Maine College of Art, graduating in 2004.

In 2009 I started my book binding apprenticeship at Mullenberg Design. I started my own book bindery, Dski Design, in 2012. In 2015 I moved my Bindery from Portland Maine to Brandon Vermont where I now make custom and on of a kind books.

Today I went to UVM for the Vermont Library Association Conference. We got to start the morning checking out their special collections library. Then one of my favorite parts was getting to check out a part of their art book collection.

Just wrapped up a large order of custom laser-engraved journals for Beta Technologies. Each journal features artwork pulled straight from the founder’s original sketchbook—the same images used as wallpaper throughout their Burlington-area buildings.

I’m especially excited that they’ll be selling my journals, and it’s pretty awesome to be working with a large company that’s manufacturing cutting edge aircraft right here in Vermont.

Thrilled to share this new piece — a Coptic-stitch journal bound to laser-engraved mahogany boards. The idea sparked while I was making flower presses; it just took me a bit to finally sit down and bring it to life. It’ll be at my table this weekend at if you’d like to check it out!

One of my favorite yearly projects — making custom journals for the students at The Telling Room in Portland, Maine. This year’s batch gave me the chance to try out some new type I picked up from Letter Press Things for my Kwik-Print, and I’m really loving how it turned out.
