Now that things have died down and life has somewhat returned to normal, I’ve finally had a chance to sit with just how special this past weekend was.
Boston came together to formally, properly, and appropriately send off one of our city’s heroes: Jaylen Brown.
Jaylen didn’t just help bring a championship back to Boston, he helped build champions throughout this city. Through his community work, his investment in young people, his partnerships with local organizations, entrepreneurs, and the opportunities he continued to create beyond basketball, his impact on Boston has always been bigger than what happened on the court.
This past weekend, 741, alongside several incredible partnering organizations, brought the city together for Frequency Fest… an afternoon filled with back-to-school giveaways, contests, the Hoopbus, games, bounce houses, music, performances, and community.
And Boston SHOWED OUT.
Lil Baby came through. A$AP Ferg came through. Lil Jon came through. Millyz came through. So many people showed up for one reason: to celebrate, honor, and say THANK YOU to Jaylen Brown.
For us at The Sofenomenal Agency Group, being able to contribute to this moment meant even more.
After having the opportunity to partner with Jaylen last year through our work with the WNBA Connecticut Sun Block Party, we wanted to return that gratitude by offering our time and creativity to help create the Thank You Wall… a space where Boston could leave its own messages, memories, love, and appreciation for Jaylen. (Shoutout to Erik of edesign for the fabrication)
We were also fortunate to partner with the 741 team (shoutout to Mason Taylor with the designs) to create imagery displayed throughout the event space, helping visually tell the story of such an important moment for the city.
To be chosen to play even a small role in something this meaningful was an honor.
Jaylen, thank you for what you gave Boston, not just the championship, but the investment, the advocacy, the opportunities, the memories, and the example.
We wish you nothing but continued success in this next chapter.
