Sylvan Heart Creations Sylvan Heart Creations is devoted to the beauty residing in the heart of Nature. I also use other natural dyes to add an array of color to a piece.

Creations are a collaboration with Nature - the inspiration for my art and healing in all ways.... Silver clay talismans begin with a watery slip of precious metal clay painted onto the wing of butterfly, bee or leaf of a tree to become an art piece for you to wear. Sometimes I add gems born of Volcanoes can to join in a piece and through the firing process they are solidly embedded...

Other co-creations adorning this page are Ecoprints, a fascinating technique of steam printing tannin rich leaves onto silk to leave the dance of their forms and colors. Leaf printing has also made it's way into my metalwork. I place leaf skeletons onto sheet metal and run it through a rolling mill to reveal the incredible veining of the leaf.

Aaaah the sweet beginning of a painting graced with the printed presence of plants.. I’ve been working my way to this point and so it begins on this canvas. I was originally a painter early in my life for 2 and a half decades and I put it down for another 2 decades. I’ve been so dearly longing to reacquaint myself with that best friend of long ago, so here’s to the beginning of this new journey, embellished a long the way with some acquired meanderings in the realm of plants.. I’m excited to see where this journey goes from here, to the paints and eventually the exploration of earth pigments….

New bronze and brass pieces, leaf prints on metal and texture hammering with 14k gold filled chain and wire. I’ll be in Boone today at the Spiral Market in Huzzah’s Books from 4-9 pm. Tomorrow at the Gather Market in Burnsville in front of Hearth Glass, 10-4 pm. Come visit me and your local artists! Shop local and handmade for the holidays!
