Lab diamonds are better than mined diamonds.

There are two camps in fine jewelry: the old school guys who refuse to accept or recommend lab diamonds to their clients, and the newer generation of jewelers who embrace lab diamonds. And these two FIGHT tooth and nail.

The older generation jewelers will call lab diamonds a cash grab. The younger generation will say lab diamonds are more ethical, economic and an obvious choice for the price-to-price comparison against a mined stone.

So what’s the real difference? Place of origin.

Yep, that’s it.

They are chemically identical.

And in my opinion, the real “cash grab” is the old schoolers who want to sell a $30k stone instead of a $5k stone because of what it means for their OWN selfish bottom line.

Work with a jeweler you trust, and who won’t lie to make a sale.

I talked a good customer into a lab stone ring instead of spending $30k+ on a mined stone recently, because I see a lot behind the scenes in the diamond industry that she can’t. And I know the truth.

Now we wait as jewelers storm this post and cry about their overpriced gravel.

I’m often asked from where I draw my inspiration for jewelry designs. A lot of them come directly from my beautiful clients, and others come from various aspects of my life. Especially travel.

When I was 19, fearless and insane, I moved to Paris on a whim. I spoke just enough French to get by (but looking back, it was pretty terrible. 😂) I didn’t know anyone, but ended up meeting two incredible American women who I am still friends with today (Cou cou Holly et Sarah! 😍💖).

I’m back in Paris with my mom and so excited to hit some of the antique jewelry stores this trip. There’s A LOT happening behind the scenes at Hadley Fabulous Fine Jewelry and I can’t wait to take you along as this journey unfolds.
