24 karat magic in the air for day one of the Paris Olympics ✨

I'm not the biggest sports fan, but when the olympics come around you'd never be able to tell. My favorite event to watch is gymnastics (duh). I'll obviously be rooting for team USA but it actually is so unreal what all of these athletes can do 🤯

This year's Taste of Jay event may have been a few months ago, but I'm still over here thinking about how much fun it was!

I customized leather keychains with hot foil all night (113 to be exact 💁🏻‍♀️) while surrounded by planes. Definitely not a sentence I ever thought I'd say. Foiling isn't a service I get to do often, so send me an email to do some at your next event 💖

In studio commissions for engraving are finally available on my website!

Really enjoying having a bit more of a chill day after such a busy last few weeks
🙌🏼

I'm very fortunate to be able to build my life/business to include all of my interests and hobbies, but sometimes that means that my priorities shift from week to week and things sometimes get pushed further back than I'd like. The last few weeks were very Barre and Dance focused, but overall May was quite packed with live events.

This adorable Diptyque candle was one of my favorites from an event I did at the start of May. Pink and gold were the colors of the day and I could not have been more excited. Manifesting more of this color combo for the rest of the year ✨

With all of these events coming up, I find it so important to squeeze in a bit of practice every once in a while. It never hurts to go back to the basics and really focus on all of the details.

As someone with ADHD I tend to find myself learning new hobbies and skills quite often. (I'm currently learning to sew and it's getting a bit out of hand) This means I'm constantly a beginner at something, and often lose interest after I've learned all the basics. I've always hated practicing. Ask me how many times I attempted to relearn how to play the guitar only to give up hours later LOL. Over the years there are really only two things I have stuck with consistently, dancing and calligraphy.

These days I've gotten a bit better about practicing and really putting in the time to improve. It still isn't my favorite thing, but I now know how important it is to find that time whenever possible. When I teach my brush lettering classes I always emphasize the importance of practicing and really understanding the basics. It's not always easy to remain patient, but man does it feel good to see the progress once you've pushed through.

✨These brass matchbox sleeves were such a fun project to work on!

Upper case letters used to be my LEAST favorite thing to write, but as the years have gone by my opinion of them has changed. My style of lettering is always evolving as I learn new techniques, and challenge myself to try things I probably wouldn't have considered in the past. The ultimate goal is always to be proud of every single piece I create, no matter how much of a time crunch I'm on. I'm proud to say that these days this feeling is more consistent than it's ever been.

The downside of having so many hobbies and commitments is trying to squeeze it all in. Sometimes priorities shift and one part gets set aside a bit (mainly this account LOL) 😅

Lately the dance side of my life has been the main focus, but as always I'm happy to have a bit of calligraphy time again. 💖
