I have a set of 4" needles, which is an unusual length, and they're perfect for me. Not too slippery, not too grippy, with wonderful points that handle lacework effortlessly and a super smooth join. These are truly my favorite needles and I can't recommend them enough.

Well, friends, it's time to rip off the bandaid. tl;dr: I am no longer dyeing yarn. Northwest Yarns purchased my remaining inventory, and they will be selling it at Fiber Fusion in Monroe, WA this weekend (and probably online after that).

Many of you probably know Clemes & Clemes, the father and son team who make fiber tools such as drum carders, blending boards, the Clever Kate, and more. Their truck and trailer were stolen a few days ago at the Red Alder Fiber Retreat in Tacoma, WA. The damaged trailer was found but the truck still has not been recovered after being used in a drive-by shooting. 😢

The truck and trailer were insured but insurance doesn't cover everything, and Roy and Henry will continue to lose time (just two weeks away from a major show) repairing the trailer instead of preparing more inventory. If you're able to donate and/or spread the word, I know my friends would greatly appreciate both the financial and emotional support from the yarn and fiber community.

Hello, friends, it's been a while! I listed some fiber, including the Targhee/silk in this photo (link to my shop in profile). 💚💙💜 I've been AWOL from dyeing and Instagram for a while. My day job keeps me more than busy (thanks, Omicron) and dyeing during the winter in my unheated garage has never been my favorite. But once the weather warms up, I'll be getting to those outstanding dye requests and taking a limited number of orders, probably in March. 🍀In the meantime, I hope you all stay safe and healthy!

Stopped by this morning and got a few photos of my final LYS Tour yarn. Bittersweet moment, for sure. For those who were asking, the contrast yarn for Cirith Ungol yarn is 100 yards and the main color is close to a full skein. I'll change my profile link to the LYS listing so it's easier for people to get to the yarn. Black and silver minis are available, and when you purchase a mini and a full skein, they'll include beads for the spider eyes! 👀

Some of you know that before I was a full-time dyer, I worked in public involvement and environmental marketing. When the pandemic happened, I wanted to do more for my community than just wash my hands and stay home. 🍁 Since last October, I've been working for my local health department doing covid communications. I really enjoy doing comms work again, so I've decided to make this a permanent return to my old career. ✨ It's pretty tiring to do a full-time job and run a side business. I've decided to wind Huckleberry Knits down by the end of the year. Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival, if it happens, will be my last big show. 🐏 What does this mean for my wonderful customers? After I finish my current wholesale order (including the Palaces Out of Paragraphs skeins in the photo), I'm planning to take the rest of August off. In Sept, I'll start taking custom orders for delivery at OFFF so I can see my customers one more time. I don't have much time/energy for photos and listings so I don't know about online sales; we'll play it by ear after OFFF. ❤
