Wait for the grater magic 🇺🇸

One of my favorite parts of making these patriotic earrings is creating the red, white, and blue speckled pattern. Instead of mixing colors together, I grate tiny pieces of clay using a very cold block of clay( I froze the blocks for about 30mins) and a cheese grater.

Every pair comes out a little different, which means no two are ever exactly alike.

Finished with metallic foil accents and a glossy shine, these handmade earrings are ready for Fourth of July celebrations, summer fairs, backyard BBQs, and fireworks under the stars. ❤️🤍💙

I have such fond memories of vacationing in Cape Cod. I wanted to create a palette reminiscent of the summers I spent wading through tide pools, playing on the jetties with cousins, and scouring the beach for treasures like shells, starfish and sand dollars. I took inspiration from a photo of a classic cape cod house and I am in love with the resulting color palette and earrings.

One of my favorite things about working with polymer clay is that even the leftovers have potential. Sometimes the colors you never planned end up being the ones you love most.

If you have an older phone without MagSafe capability (the magnetic ring that is included in many newer model phones that allows accessories like chargers, wallets, and grips to snap securely onto the back of your phone) you can still use a MagSafe grip using a magnetic adapter ring. This video shows you how simple it is to apply to your phone. All of my MagSafe grips come with this adapter.

A few notes:
These adapters work better on smooth surfaces. It didn't adhere super well to this textured case.

Make sure to clean the surface you are applying the adapter to to ensure good adhesion.

Mother Nature said no natural light today… so I had to pivot. As much as I would love to wait for the perfect moment to capture these product photos, I don't have the flexibility in this phase of my life to stop what I am doing (keeping two tiny humans alive) when the light is right.

Sometimes creativity looks less like perfect conditions and more like figuring it out anyway.
