Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m stuck in Groundhog’s day the movie: Mom edition.

I’ve spent so much of this year wishing for time to myself.

Yesterday my beautiful friend Today’s Stack | Vintage Gold Jewelry shared an essay by Sahil Bloom with me and one chart stopped me cold. Time with our parents peaks when we are little. And time alone? It climbs steadily for the rest of our lives.

Read that again.

The thing I keep begging for is the one thing I’m guaranteed to have plenty of someday.

Right now, Lexi is little and still wants me around. My mom is a spring chicken Mamani and doing amazing. My Trophy Husband is young, energetic, and vibrant. This is actually it. This is the sweet spot of life, and I’ve been so busy counting down to the quiet moments that I almost missed it.

Don’t get me wrong, the overwhelm is real. Needing a break doesn’t make you ungrateful. But today when I feel that “I just need five minutes to myself” ache, I’m going to look up and notice the blessings in my present life.

One day I’ll miss all this. 🥹
