About Mableton

Mableton is a census-designated place (CDP) located approximately 11 miles northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, Georgia. According to the US Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 20.8 square miles, of which 20.6 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles is water. Mableton was named after Robert Mable, who bought 300 acres of land in 1843. In 1912, Mableton was incorporated as

a town, only to be dis-incorporated in 1916. A popular attraction in Mableton is the historic Mable House which includes the Mable House Arts Center, the Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre and the Mable House property. The Silver Comet Trail, a multi-use National Recreation Trail built on an old railroad route that passes through Mableton, is another popular attraction in the area. Mableton’s convenient proximity to Interstate 285, Vinings, Buckhead, Downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, make it an attractive location for those looking for real estate close to everything and within the acclaimed Cobb County school district.
