There she was given Buddhist prayer beads, or mala, from a monk who then blessed them for her. That gift launched a spiritual need to create and design jewelry for women in search of inner happiness and bliss. Once she and her husband returned home to Atlanta, Patty's jewelry business began. Each of the 108 beads is hand-placed and represents one color of the chakras or spiritual energy centers: Bliss, Intuition, Creativity, Love, Inner Strength, Desire, and Earthly Connection. Patty Rollins grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. As a child she loved creating things with her hands. She remembers making round beads with her first lump of sand-clay found on an island in the Florida Keys. Once the beads dried in the sun she made necklaces for her friends to wear. She then began creating pendants and stringing those on yarn. Over the years, Patty’s passion for creating jewelry has developed from craft to true art. Patty and her husband live in Atlanta, Georgia with their two young sons and budding artists, who love to make things out of clay.
