As far as I can recall, y'all,
My Momma ain't drove no Cadillac,
But she sure did look eloquent and regal in her Buick.
Gave me these words of wisdom, way before Michael,
"If you want to achieve something in this lifetime, then son just do it!
But remember, that pain is a part of life,
Yet God has already given us all the strength we'll need to break through it,
With the innate abilities to come out on the back end standing,
And regardless of odds set against you, and the plots of your enemies,
God is still planning.
He's just spreading His magic for you to capture at it's landing.
Yeah!
My Momma was my first teacher,
We never had too many toys but she made sure we had those sets of encyclopedias,
Which only made learning these hard lessons much easier.
Our Mother embodied everything that we should all aspire for and strive to become.
Beautifully Dutiful!
Always!
So sure in her faith,
So resolute,
Seemingly effortlessly,
Conforming as water does inside it's vessel,
Yet Immovable,
Rooted and grounded like the trees,
Sprouting her limbs and leaves,
She was firm,
She's a Queen!
Forever unapologetically obedient,
Swift to reward her child with aa illuminating smile but if ever necessary she wouldn't be hesitant,
To scold me,
Lovingly told me,
One early Saturday morning when I was already up, toddling,
Running around, jumping up and down in her room,
"Boy sit down, and turn from those cartoons,
Watch the news,
The world as we know it is changing right in front of you.
I can see that you have vision,
But sharpen your views so they are not skewed.
I learned to watch as well when Momma prayed,
At the edge of her bed,
Bending her knees,
Bowing her head.
I knew to open my heart, focus my eyes and close my mouth,
While witnessing such an Amazingly Graceful!
Radiant face full of glow,
Such a sight to behold,
My Mother!
Phenomenal and beyond!
Masterful, the way she authored her legacy on beautifully handwritten,
White,
Pretty pearl-like pages,
With their glistening golden linings,
Whose chapters are numbered to ten,
Encased inside, a leathery Mahogany cover,
And placed between it's two rugged solid custom bookends blessed to be known as their brothers.

There are no known words to me that could accurately describe who this dear sweet women is, but we are all a testament to her greatness!

With Love genuine, and Gratitude unending,
You are forever celebrated!

Sick of getting scarred,
Sitting in your cars,
I'm bigger than bars,
Picture the stars,
Viewed from alongside the river,
Flicker and glitter in dark,
Triggered the charge,
We went from ni**as to GODS,

I either know it for sure, or I don't,
But I don't believe it,
Either work hard for what you want,
Or I hope you know you won't receive it,
That which is lost, just pay the cost,
Recoup to retrieve it,
Remember,
Long as you can see it,
You can be it,
I've been fighting all my life long,
Now that I'm older seems I'm fighting to righten my wrongs,
So I gotta stay true to me,
Tell these devils turn loose of me,
Under the sun ain't nothing new to a G,

To everything except the beat of the drum,
Bobbing my head under the heat of the sun,
Smoking re**er for the fun,
Watch the elevator meters run,
We've been building since we begun,
Melodies we sung,
Each one teach one,
As soon as it reach, she's sprung,
Few and far between,
Too many people dumb,
Especially in the slums we come from,

EAGLES!

I'm seeking out the best place,
Where crooked lines get set straight,
Giving them words that'll pe*****te his breast plate,
If you can relate then that's great,
Maybe then can we begin to correct this mess made,
If you're refusing to love, then that's hate,
No need to be afraid I'll show you the best steps to take,
So we can expect our best days,
This goes for everyone except for the ones with less faith,
If you're feeling trapped then escape,
Follow me, I'm headed to a place where we'll be kept safe,
It's the early birds that catch breaks,
And won't be disturbed or deterred by those who left late,

Bravely, proudly, courageously, having proven himself King, he joyfully celebrated his greatest victory thus far. With authority he erected his throne. Having adorned himself with such a beautiful bejeweled crown, pensive, he sat there. He had successfully restored peace in a once war-torn province, and so he rested.
No longer in need of them, he stared at his glistening array of armorment and weaponry which he had retired. Polished and encased, safely placing them on his mantle between two flaming twin candles. Praying for his Queen's safe travels, he wrote to her.
