Five years ago I founded my jewelry business 5 Oaks Studio intending to design and produce silver production jewelry. So I developed series like The Elements, and Luminous as beautiful heartfelt designs that I could reproduce as many times as needed. Over the past 5 years the work I do has evolved into something different, something far more artistic in nature. Most of my energy is directed toward conceiving, designing, and producing large one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. Now with the Wearable Sculpture series the completely unique jewelry piece is accompanied by a custom and sculptural display for that art jewelry piece. As such I have decided to begin working under my name. My new makers mark is ordered and on the way. I’ll be developing a website soon, greater Facebook presence and other social media using Kelly M Noonan. I hope that you will track my progress as a named artist on these platforms. STARKS HEART This piece is dedicated to my great nephew, Stark. He was born 5 years ago with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a condition where the left side of the heart is underdeveloped, necessitating the right side of the heart to pump all the blood with no help from the left side.

Come to a fun activity for kids and adults this holiday weekend. Saturday and Sunday at Grapevine Convention Center the Arlington Gem and Mineral Club is hosting it's Jubilee Show! This is one of the best gem club shows in the country so it's well worth your effort. AND it's inside in the cool too! I'll be demonstrating cuttlebone casting and have for sale many new one-of-a-kind pieces made from cuttlebone cast metal. Be cool and come visit me at the show. Cheers!

When I saw this awesome little pyromorphite specimen only about an inch and a half long and an inch high I couldn’t wait to hold it in my hands. It screamed to me, I’m a little hedgehog, green and prickly. Upon arrival it truly was perfect for my intended design. Someday soon it will have a face, belly and legs of silver, posed sitting back on its haunches being as cute as a button. It will be part of a new series I call “Tandem”, a series of work shared between myself and Mother Nature. There are countless mineral specimens that are gorgeous and fascinating just the way they come from nature. I merely want to highlight their natural beauty and create pieces that are accessible to anyone. Some pieces from this series will be object d’art, others jewelry. "Caribbean Sea" - The latest in the Radiance Series one-of-a-kind wearable sculpture.
This slab of Peruvian blue opal struck me immediately as I held it to the light the stone radiated translucent blue with outer edges undulating like waves of the sea, and tan inclusions like sand churned up at the shoreline. I had been in that water before, surrounded by the amazing clear turquoise blue of the waters off Isla Cozumel, Mexico. The need to create a one of a kind piece of jewelry around this stunning stone washed over me like the cool Caribbean waters.
The entire piece became an homage to the ocean beginning with the central opal the color of turquoise Caribbean waters. It is held in place with prongs covered with silver granulation like sea foam on the water’s surface. The sterling silver frame cast into cuttlebone imparts a unique pattern like the ripples of water sculpted sand. Abalone shell reflecting the presence of a mollusk on the sea floor. The theme is carried through to the handmade chain resembling an anchor chain complete with an ancient Greek inspired anchor clasp. Sculpturally exhibited on a custom designed sandstone tabletop display, included with the piece.
