Small Business Feature 💚

As an entrepreneur coach I aim to bring the “shop small” mindset into as many aspect of my life as possible. As an added bonus, I also try to go to different companies in the same industry to help spread the word.

Yesterday, I went to a new nail salon — in Virginia! They’re the first waterless, non-toxic nail salon in Arlington. I’ve been to two other waterless and/or non toxic nail salons in D.C. (fun fact: I managed one before!!) so I had to try this one. 💅🏼

Sustainability is a huge problem in the Nail industry (the water waste alone will make your head spin) so any waterless salon is already light years ahead in the eco-space. However, Keen goes an extra mile with hand towels instead of paper towels, BYOF (bring your own flip-flops) to avoid 1-use slides, and non toxic nail varnish, separating them from their competitors.

The salon, while small, was cozy and welcoming with soft lighting and no harsh fumes. I got their traditional manicure with Dazzle Dry, the fast drying & long lasting (not gel) polish they have available - in our company colors of course! The nail artist was excellent, quick but steady and careful which is the best combo. I booked my next appointment as I was checking out because I was so excited to come back. Next time I’m trying their ‘gel builder’ and will report back!

Start your week off right with 3 tasks in 8 minutes:

1. Brain Dump: In 2 minutes or less, write down everything that's on your mind or mental to-do list for the day, week, month, or any worries you have. No certain order, organization, or explanation - just write it out.

2. Prioritize: In 60 seconds, quickly notate top priorities on your list starting with 1 and going until you run out. Don't think too much about it, the goal is to trust your gut here so you can build momentum!

3. Set Intentions & Manifest: Now that you're in an empty headspace and have set your priorities for the week, take 5 min. and focus on your intention. Visualize your future. Your business. The life you'll have. Write out what you say with affirming statements like "I deserve...", or "I have....", or "I am...".

Now you're ready - hit your list in order of priority and you're off to the races with a great mindset and a clear head. For best success, do this daily each morning or evening before going to bed!
