Thanks to the for easing me back into the workforce with a flexible role in public relations. Yes, the daily fashion trends since 2010 had changed but I quickly ditched the black pumps for and escaped looking like a complete Dodo. That toe dip made me realize I need that balance in my life to be a better mom!

Because I have no connection to either Super Bowl team (except that 49ers QB Jimmy Garappolo is from the town I live in!), I’ll spend most of the game huddled around the . And after a recent facelift, I love spending time in my bright kitchen. I realize I don’t even have a full photo to show the full before. It wasn’t a place to memorialize! Why a facelift and not a full transformation? My husband does all this work by himself. Every.single.thing. I choose my projects very carefully; weighing the “needs” versus the “wants”. 🛠
I‘ve been trying to build a brand for him for years (this hobby could be an easy college fund!) but he’s always says things like “I already have a job”. So for now, I will gladly take his skills on nights and weekends. Next up: our master bathroom. Currently mapping out my board and slowly turning it into my board. Anyone else living with a Handyman Husband? HMU to discuss strategy. 😂 Or better yet...if you want to talk strategy branding your own business!

Thursday Tip: I changed my profile picture from my business logo to a picture of myself. Not that I love pictures of myself but personal photos, even on business pages, have a hire follow rate. So when you are trying to grow any type of social media account think the following 3 musts for your profile picture:
✔️ Personal- let’s see who is behind those witty captions.
✔️ Bright- the brighter the colors, the better. Make it stand out from the crowd!
✔️ Authentic- my profile picture was taken when I tried out to be a member model. It was a fun day and my smile is real. Captures the behind the scenes of a photo shoot, not unlike many I attend from the other side of the camera in my profession. Also, I love the navy dress I’m wearing and it was a good hair day. 😊 So find your favorite photo and change things up for February!

2020 Resolution #2: take advantage of my local library. My town’s library is probably in the top 10% of all libraries (I already admitted my Book Nerd tendencies so I know libraries) and I knew they offered classes most days. But then a friend clued me in that they offer FREE online classes as well! So here I am, on my couch, done with lesson one of my “Business and Marketing Writing” course. Given my profession, this is in my wheelhouse but everyone needs a refresher. Next up: “Where Does All My Money Go?” (Not in my wheelhouse.)😬
