There are so many new faces here following along on my art journey, so I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself.
✨Hi! I’m Shelby Lynn Murphy, the artist behind Murphy’s Art.
I will be turning 32 in September and I am from the small town of Anderson, IN.
I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember—and a dreamer just as long. Art has always been my comfort during challenging times; there’s something about creating that brings my soul a deep sense of peace.
I’m especially drawn to creating with what some might call “trash,” and what I call new-found pieces. I love working with natural elements, including preserved flowers, mushrooms, moss, "found objects" and animal bones, transforming them into something meaningful and beautiful. I began with pencil and paper, later discovering a deep love for acrylic painting, and eventually embracing life as a mixed-media artist.
My work spans many forms—suncatchers, dreamcatchers, wall hangings, bone art, pet portrait paintings, and more. I enjoy working with clay, beads, wire, paper, cardboard, wood, and just about anything else that sparks inspiration. I see potential everywhere.
Woodworking, in particular, has become incredibly grounding and relaxing for me in the last couple of years.
Beyond creating, my greatest passion is sharing my art with others—especially those who feel called to it. Art is meant to be experienced, connected with, and felt.
I recently took a break from creating, and I’m excited to be stepping back into this space with fresh energy and inspiration.
I’m so grateful you’re here. Please feel free to comment, reach out, ask questions, or connect—I am currently open for commissions.
Thank you for joining me on my art journey ✨🥰❤️
