🙋🏻♀️Meet our friend Inuit Ties by Tatqaviñ!
❄️Arctic Encounter was her first time as an artist vendor, and now she has a social media page to follow - so please make sure to go 👍🏽 like and ➡️follow her page and support a fellow artist ☺️
✨Thank you soooo much to everyone who showed up to support our work, and to Tatqaviñ Andi Adams for sharing our work❣️❤️
Hi! I’m Tatqaviñ Andi Adams my home lies roughly 20 miles above the Arctic Circle. I grew up sewing with my mama and when I left home it always felt like something was missing in my life. In the recent years, an opportunity came up where I learned how to knit with qiviut, a big thanks to my friends Helen Lane and Misak Kinneeveauk. When you start one hobby, ideas for new creations just keep coming! Here is where I found a passion for the seal skin earrings.
If you ever feel disconnected from your culture, pull out your sewing box and pick up your sewing projects, let those tie you back to your roots, one stitch at a time. My hands were born to work hard, and so are yours.
I had a very successful first vendor table this week selling some very beautiful and shiny seal skin earrings and barrettes at the Alaska Native Artist Market hosted by the Alaska Native Heritage Center at Arctic Encounter. And when people at the next vendor event ask me for a business card, my business name, and my socials, I’ll be ready!
I am looking to connect to teach classes and workshops and looking for other vendor markets to sell my work at. ✨🫶
Lastly, I sure want to branch out here and you can help by sharing my post. Be looking out for a giveaway post soon!
