Got a broken piece of jewellery or one that deserves a fresh new look? I'd love to help bring it back to life.

This time, two necklaces came into the workshop for a new leather cord.

✨ The first one was a beautiful Crystal Opal. A simple but delicate repair: removing the old cord and carefully gluing the new leather into the platinum end caps while preserving the original design.

☀️ The second necklace featured a stunning Heliodor, a golden variety of beryl whose name comes from the Greek words meaning "gift of the sun." Its warm yellow color makes it a truly radiant gemstone.

This one was a real challenge because the customer wanted the leather cord to be hand-stitched instead of glued. It was my very first time using this technique… and I'm happy to say: challenge completed! I'm proud of the result.

This is exactly why I love my job. Every project teaches me something new. Every request pushes me to adapt, learn new techniques, and keep improving my craftsmanship.

Not every gemstone tells a story. Some become one. ✨

These 18k gold Demantoid Garnet studs were handcrafted from the ground up, beginning with something old. I melted down a worn-out gold clasp into a small ingot, drew it into wire, and gave it a completely new life.

I had planned to use a plaster soldering technique… but let's just say the plaster and I weren't on speaking terms that day. 😅 Sometimes the bench reminds you who's really in charge.

So, I switched to another method, securing each component directly into my soldering block. Adapt, improvise… and finally, a successful soldering process.

From there came the pre-polish, the stone setting, the final polish… and that's still skipping countless hours and steps. Every handmade piece of jewellery is the result of dozens of decisions, techniques, corrections, and careful craftsmanship that often remain unseen.

And then there are the stones.

Demantoid Garnet is one of the rarest members of the garnet family and one of the world's most valuable green gemstones. Its exceptional brilliance often surpasses that of a diamond, thanks to its remarkably high dispersion—the fiery flashes of colour that dance through the stone. Fine demantoids are found in only a handful of locations worldwide. It's not every day that I have the privilege of working with beauties like these.

A few weeks ago, I shared this beautiful Lightning Ridge crystal opal from Australia and simply asked:

✨ “Would anyone be interested in this stone?”

Fortunately, a good friend immediately fell in love with it and decided to turn it into a custom ring.

After discussing the design, taking measurements, and creating a sketch, the project came to life. From raw metal to finished piece, this video shows part of the journey behind this unique handmade ring.

And what a special feeling to see three of my creations together in the final photo. Moments like these remind me why I love making jewellery. 💍✨

An heirloom deserves more than a simple repair ✨

This 18k gold diamond ring came into the studio carrying memories, history, and sentimental value.
To rebuild the bottom of the band, the client also brought another gold ring so I could add matching material and give new life to this piece while preserving its original soul.

Every repair is a balance between technique and respect for the story behind the jewellery.
Reshaping, soldering, rebuilding… carefully done by hand to make the ring strong enough to be worn and loved again for many more years 💍

For this restoration, the melting and rolling process of the gold are not included in the video as well as the final polishing.

From raw silver to a future bracelet ✨

Apparently my “focused face” looks very serious 😅
When I melt silver, I get completely absorbed by the process — timing, temperature, movement… every detail matters.
So if you don’t see me smiling much in the video, it usually means I’m deeply concentrated (which is actually a good sign 😂).
French & Thai jeweller based in Koh Phangan, graduated in jewellery making & stone setting in France (2005–2009).
I create, repair and transform jewellery by hand using traditional techniques and artisanal craftsmanship.
This silver ingot is only the beginning — soon it will become a handmade bracelet ✨
