The 3800 came before the hype, before the waitlists, and before the 5711. The reference that started the mid-size Nautilus story — introduced after the original 3700 Jumbo to broaden the collection, and the first Nautilus to carry a Patek in-house automatic movement. The blue ribbed dial constantly changes character depending on the light, one of those details you only really appreciate in person. The 38mm ref. 5610/1P in the Nautilus 50th lineup was Patek nodding back to exactly what the 3800 started. The case has held up remarkably well, remaining wonderfully sharp with the original lines still clearly visible throughout.
