The main thing we learn at jewellery school as jewellers is that when you mess up, just take a deep breath and start all over again.
But because I was really short on time, I tried to fix it instead.
I made one little mistake that led to a whole series of events that took me 10 uninterrupted hours at the bench, and in the end, I was left with a ring that was just... meh.
I showed it to several people, and everyone told me it wasn't that bad.
But I didn't want a “not so bad” ring.
I wanted a WOW masterpiece.
This was my most complex and important commission to date, and I really needed it to be perfect.
So I finally took a deep breath and started all over again.
And this time, I got it right.
The original diamonds didn't fit the second version, so I had to order new ones. They'll only arrive on Monday.
In the meantime, I temporarily set some topaz stones, just so I could see the ring coming to life and finally feel that sense of accomplishment.
The final polishing and finishing touches will happen once the diamonds are set. I'll also use a graver to accentuate the infinity contours.
This ring took me on an intense inner journey, and I honestly reached a point where I considered giving up jewellery altogether (I am a drama queen, yes).
It's a piece filled with meaning, and I'm so eager to share its full story with you! 🥹🥰🌸✨️🙏
