Adrienne Cahalan navigated the supermaxi Wild Oats to five of its eight line-honours victories in the Rolex Sydney-Hobart race, but this year she is downsizing from the 100-footer to a yacht just over half its length for her record 25th trip south.

RAGAMUFFIN RESURGENCE

Syd Fischer’s modified TP52 "Ragamuffin", a veteran of numerous Sydney-Hobart campaigns, will continue the Ragamuffin legacy and legend.

Helmed by SCM director, Brenton Fischer, Ragamuffin is crewed by a new generation of sailors, and the odd old salt!

With a new wardrobe of sails, a coat of paint and a few modifications Ragamuffin is ready to add the next chapter to the Rags history book.

Brenton is preparing the yacht and crew for a crack at the 2016 Bluewater Pointscore Series, starting with the 2016 Land Rover Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race on 30 July and ending with the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race on 26th December.

“We’ve done it before and we’ll do it again!” Brenton said of the challenge ahead, eye firmly on the multiple prizes.

RAGAMUFFIN 100 SOLD

Sydney-siders may have noticed Ragamuffin 100 quietly slipping out of her berth at Sydney City Marine last week....

The boat that carried Syd Fischer on his final trip to Hobart before his retirement in 2016 has been sold to a mystery owner from Hong Kong. Make sure you follow Scallywag to get the low down on the new program.

We hope the new owner enjoys the boat as much as we did!

Happy Birthday to Witty, Team Ragamuffin's sailing master and the leader of the herd. He has skilfully navigated the last 4 years running the Team Ragamuffin programme for Syd.
