When Yeng Constantino said, "Nagustuhan mo rin pala ako, but it wasn't the right time," maybe that was the hardest truth of their story. The feelings were real, but the timing wasn't. He wasn't ready to provide, commit, or become the man he believed she deserved. And from a man's perspective, that isn't being torpe-it's knowing you're not ready and being honest enough to admit it.
Some men step back not because they love less, but because they don't want to love someone with nothing but promises. He wanted more than words. He wanted stability. He didn't want Yeng to carry the weight of a life he wasn't ready to build. So he let go, even if letting go meant losing her.
But while he was becoming ready, Yeng was learning to live without him. And when he finally became the man he wanted to be, she already had someone beside her.
Maybe that is the cruelty of timing: you can love someone sincerely, grow into everything you once wanted to be, and still arrive too late.
Hindi lahat ng pagbitaw ay dahil hindi ka mahal. Minsan, bumibitaw ka dahil ayaw mong pangako lang ang maibigay mo.
But people are not required to wait for the version of us we are still becoming.
So if you love someone now, don't wait until everything is perfect before choosing them.
