A Rado Diastar that stopped working after a fall.

What looked like a simple repair turned out to require a deeper inspection.

The ceramic bezel had detached, but the real issue was inside the movement. Through microscope inspection, we located the obstruction and discovered that the movement’s lubricants had also dried out.

Instead of simply getting the watch running again, we performed the necessary service maintenance, calibration, and final timegrapher testing to verify its performance.

A watch may stop without warning, but there’s always a reason behind it.

This Rolex Explorer Ref. 214270, powered by the Caliber 3132, was brought to our workshop after it suddenly stopped running.

During our initial assessment, we found signs of deteriorated lubricants, and based on the symptoms, we suspected a broken mainspring. After a complete disassembly of the movement, our diagnosis was confirmed—the mainspring had indeed failed.

The watch then underwent our complete service maintenance process, including a thorough inspection, professional cleaning, replacement of the damaged mainspring, precise lubrication, careful reassembly, calibration, and final quality control.

To verify the results, the movement was tested using a timegrapher—an essential diagnostic tool that measures the watch’s accuracy, amplitude, and beat error. The final readings confirmed that the movement was once again performing within proper operating standards and was ready to be returned to its owner.

Because every timepiece deserves more than just a repair—it deserves the proper care it needs.

Not every watch issue is as simple as it seems.

Our client brought in this Omega Constellation with a Co-Axial movement because the crown had detached. During our diagnostic inspection using a timegrapher, we discovered a more important issue—low amplitude (AMP), one of the key indicators that the movement is already due for service maintenance.

A watch with low amplitude may continue to run, but prolonged use can result in reduced accuracy, lower power reserve, and increased wear on critical movement components due to deteriorated lubrication. Identifying these issues early helps prevent more extensive and costly repairs.
