First pot holder - FINISHED! ✅
Won’t lie, we made a few mistakes and had to unpick 😂 but we made it! Literally and figuratively 🥰
Adjustments made since the prototype:
1. Increased overall size by an inch ↗️
2. Moved loop to the corner, instead of middle
3. Using cotton tape for all pot holder loops (far too finickety for this impatient sewer to make each one out of its own fabric 😳🙃)
4. Only used one layer of cotton batting (instead of two) as was too bulky - don’t worry, still thick enough to handle hot things! 🔥👍🏼
Result = 🤗 so now for production to begin! Once we’ve got a few designs made up there’ll be details regarding purchasing 🛒🛍️

F I R S T P R O T O T Y P E
Here’s our first go at making a pot holder! We had an idea of what to do but watched a video from that just helped confirm we were on the right track.
Pretty happy with the outcome, and with some changes noted for next time…
> only one layer of cotton wadding, not two (too thick 😬)
> make the fabric pieces slightly bigger to help with seam allowance, and finished size
> move loop to the corner
> consider binding the edges
But apart from that, happy days! Hope to make these tweaks and start production very soon!
Appreciate all the love you gave on the fabric choices too 🫶🏼🥰❤️
