Playing dentist with a juvenile sea urchin. Every kina’s got a tooth right in the middle. Out it comes with a drill. Then I fill the shell with resin. Strong enough to wear, not just admire. Follow me if you love to see more of my jewellery made with shells and shore finds.

Each paua pendant starts with a farmed paua shell.
I mix real beach sand into our signature marble-like stone clay and press it by hand around the shell to set it. No mould. No machine. Just hands, sand, and a shell. We use real shells — not casts. So the sizes vary. The colours shift a little. The kina patterns are different on every single one.

So you’re not getting one of a thousand. So unique. Just like you.

Nine shells. I pick three. That’s how this one started — a pink pinwheel, a little paua, and a wee p**i, tumbled onto the bench and turned into this.
