I WISH I KNEW THIS EARLIER 😔
"You can start China importation with ₦0–₦20,000."
That’s what they always say… right?
💭 From my real-life experience?
It’s honestly unwise to start China importation with ₦0 – ₦100k unless:
✅ You already have customers waiting to buy
✅ Or people who trust you enough to preorder and pay upfront
🚨 PLEASE DON’T LET ANY COACH DECEIVE YOU.
If you’re just starting, here’s my honest advice:
👉🏽 Start with a legit Nigerian supplier while you:
Build your customer base
Gain experience
Learn what works and what flops
💸 Why ₦50K–₦150K Might Be Penny-Wise, Pound-Foolish:
1️⃣ DELIVERY TAKES TIME!
Shipping from China takes 3–4 weeks (or longer).
In that time, you could have bought from a Nigerian vendor, sold out, restocked, and made a profit!
2️⃣ CHINESE PRICES FAVOR BULK BUYERS.
The more you buy, the cheaper each item gets.
Small buyers (5–10 pieces) pay more per unit than big-time importers.
3️⃣ SHIPPING WILL SHOCK YOU!
This January, I ordered an LED 800 Pro light price was sweet 😄
But shipping? 😩 It weighed over 2kg.
Shipping cost nearly made me cry.
I later saw Nigerian vendors selling it cheaper (with tripod included!).
Mine was just light no tripod.
After shipping + cost, I spent more, waited longer, and had no peace 😭
The same thing happened when I was selling bags…
Shipping & clearing cost more than the bags themselves.
I had to pause the business.
If I ever return to bag importation, I’ll start local with Nigerian vendors until I’m ordering in bulk that justifies sea shipping.
✅ Yes, you can learn about China importation
But even if you have ₦1M, don’t rush to import big if:
🚫 You don’t have ready buyers
🚫 You don’t have large capital
🚫 You haven’t tested the market
💡 Start smart.
Start small.
Start locally.
Grow with wisdom.
