Ever bought a pair of earrings that looked beautiful but felt uncomfortable after a few hours?
Surprisingly, it's often not because you're allergic to the material. The real reason can be something much simpler — the thickness of the hook.
A comfortable earring hook is usually around 0.7mm–0.8mm thick. It slides through the ear piercing more naturally and feels lighter for all-day wear. Many commercial earrings use thicker hooks, which may feel tight, create pressure, and become uncomfortable over time. With prolonged wear, they can even gradually stretch the ear hole.
It's a small detail that many people overlook, but once you've worn a comfortable hook size, you'll immediately notice the difference.
