This year, we’re tracing a quieter path through places that move us — not just for what’s new, but for what’s deeply rooted.

From tiled palaces in Sintra to the sacred silence of Santiago de Compostela. From windswept fishermen’s beaches in Cabo Verde to the Casbah’s sun-bleached stone in Algiers. In between, slow days in Comporta and moments of stillness inside Tang’s grand mosque.
