These images were taken during one of our visits with the women who handweave our collection in Dakar, Senegal.

Sitting beside them and watching the process gives us a better understanding of their work. Every basket is woven one row at a time, with the artisan controlling its shape, tension and pattern throughout. It’s an amazing process to witness up close.

The finished basket may eventually live in a bedroom, nursery or living room, but this is where it begins. 🤍
