Kenyan born & raised, Brian Kivuti is a self-described Treasure Maker; a multi-disciplinary artist currently practicing artist-jewellery, photography, and painting. His work and excitement are symbolic exercises of his own search for personal alignment, notably within an existentialist framework.

Abstract expression is ofte
n used in his work through contrast and metaphors. Within his art jewellery, the juxtaposition of fluid & rough forms are frequently used to subtly convey the internal experience of transition; the attempts of growth flowing through the contrasting experience of self-reflection. So too, his multi-media paintings represent, in ink images of abstract landscapes, a yearning to see the whole through collected fragments. Fine silver is a primary material found in his jewellery; favored for its versatility and shine, he often plays with variations in texture and finish. This is often combined with other materials such as carved bone, ankole horn, or wood to further accentuate these finishes. Works in the disciplines of painting and sculpture are frequently multimedia, with an affinity to inks, organic matter, and clay. Trained in Jewellery & Silvermithing (BA, 2012) within Edinburgh University, Brian Kivuti maintains his practice at his private atelier in Nairobi, Kenya.
