Learning to Start With the End in Mind

Lately, I’ve been realizing something—I don’t always need to have everything figured out right now. Instead, I can begin with the end in mind.

I’ve been asking myself: What kind of life do I want to look back on years from now? That question doesn’t give me all the answers, but it gives me a sense of direction.

I’m learning that purpose isn’t a destination you stumble on overnight. It’s more like a compass that starts to form when you picture the bigger picture. And every small step feels more meaningful when it connects to that vision.

I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m learning to let the end I desire guide the choices I make today.

It’s a process, and I’m still in it.

I was listening to the podcast episode by Mel Robbins featuring Will Parker (the producer) and I must say something changed.

Will has an amazing outlook of life. He talks about not being afraid of failure.

My key takeaway was around healthy arrogance. He describes healthy arrogance as "The feeling that you belong in any room that you are in no matter who else is in there"

This does not mean that you imagine that you are better than anyone else in the room, no.

The mindset is, feeling that you belong in any room that you're in no matter who else is there because you have something that you are bringing by just being you.

You bring something to the room by just being you. No title or achievements etc.

It reminded me that self belief is one of the most important things to have in order to move in the direction of your definition of success.

I'd encourage everyone to go listen/watch that episode, it might change your life.

As we end the week, let's remember to be kind.

You don't know what the person next to you might be going through.

A smile, an encouraging word, or any form of act of kindness can go a long way.

Have a great day.

I have been contemplating on the scripture Matthew 6:33 (NIV):

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

What does Seeking first The Kingdom look like? What does God require of me?

Here are my findings so far:

Seeking His Kingdom means putting God first in everything, aligning your life with His will, and living in a way that reflects Jesus — trusting that He will take care of your needs.

In our day to day, it looks like
-In our heart: Putting God above everything — career, money, relationships, even your own plans.

-In our habits: Praying, studying Scripture, worshiping, and learning to hear His voice.

-In our choices: Asking, “Does this honor God?” before making decisions.

-In relationships: Loving others, forgiving quickly, serving humbly.

-In daily life: Living with eternal perspective — using your time, resources, and talents for God’s purposes, not just temporary gains.

Things to actively do:
1. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37).

2. Love others as yourself (Matthew 22:39).

3. Live as Christ’s ambassador — sharing the Gospel, being a light in the world, and showing others God’s love (2 Corinthians 5:20, Matthew 5:14–16).

4. Grow in holiness — continually letting God shape your character to reflect Jesus.

This is your reminder that above everything else, we are put here on earth to advance God's kingdom. To ensure that all we are and all we do gives glory to His name.

May God help us to align our goals, dreams, and aspirations with His will for our lives. And when we do this, all things will be given to us.

Our God is able. Let us trust Him.

I am a personal development/self-growth enthusiast.

Ever since I was a teenager, I have been avidly reading non fiction books, wanting to learn how to become a better and successful person.

I can't keep count of the 100's of books I have read.

At the beginning of the year, as I was planning the books to read, I started questioning this practice.

How is it that I have read hundreds of personal development books and I have not yet become successful? Why am I not yet financially free?

It is when I read the book "Change Your Paradigm Change Your Life by Bob Proctor that it all clicked. In the book, he speaks about the importance of repetition.

Here's a quote;.............................................................................................................................
"The truth is, we can’t possibly understand the contents of the
book this way. Reading something once and moving on is not going to do it."

If you want to change something, you’ve got to use
repetition. If you’d only told been told your name once, you wouldn’t even know what it is. They had to call you by name over and over until finally you started to respond to it."......................................................................................................................................

He goes ahead to describe how he listened to a specific audio recording TEN THOUSAND TIMES just to increase his awareness. He also talked about reading and rereading a book continuously to fully internalize the content.

Here's what I realized, when I pick up a book, I tend to read it once or twice. Rarely do I internalize or get to put into practice what I learn.

Heck, I forget some of the concepts I read even before finishing the book.

The missing link is repetition. The key to learning and growing is to repeat the reading and practice until you see progress.

It now made sense. With this information in hand, I have chosen two of my favorite books - those that I feel made an impact - and I am rereading them to pick up concepts I may have missed.

I also have a couple of podcast episodes and YouTube videos that I go back to once in a while.

I have hope that if I can make repetition a habit, I will surely raise my awareness and see a change in my life.

As you start of the week, may you maintain your character.

Don't let people's actions change your softness.

You are responsible for how you react.

15/09/2025

I want to start today by setting my intentions for the week.

I've heard that this helps with focus and achieving goals.

So, my intentions for the week are:

1. To make a post on this page and X 5 times a week (Mon - Frid)

2. Create my second writing sample and publish on substack.

3. Send at least one cold email this week with the aim of landing a content writing client.

Wish me luck🤞. What are your intentions for the week?
