Here Yamash*tacho 166 was once called Yokohama Settlement 166.
From End of Edo period to 1899, people from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, I, and the conducted active commerce under extraterritoriality, and many Western-style trading posts stood side by side.

Raw silk, tea, and seafood were exported from Japan, and fabrics, watches, medicines, and weapons were imported from overseas. The street was called Odawaracho, and the Qing consulate was also at 135.

A huge brick foundation was excavated during the foundation work of this building, revealing that a large Western-style trading post had been built here. The Yamash*tacho area was a region of many Western-styles.
