Where others find inspiration in sunsets and nature, I find it in Motorhead songs.

Metal Atelier is a Berlin based jewelry company making one of a kind pieces, inspired by all things spiky, shiny, and nihilistic, with a sprinkling of animal print.

It's been a while since I introduced/ reintroduced myself here. I am Anna, your friendly Berlin punk rock goldsmith. Originally from New York, I have been melting metal and making bling here in Berlin for a bit over 9 years now. All of my collections are produced in Kreuzberg in the shadow of the former Berlin Wall. The vast majority is produced with one off sand moulds, meaning every piece is just a wee bit different. I believe in the power of hand work over CAD, and would sooner eat glass than offer AI renderings for projects (sorry not sorry). These days I am focusing on adding more stone work and hand engraving to my collections, the learning curve is steep.

When not in the studio, I spend a fair amount of time at gigs and concerts, have a secret identity as a dead bird (shhh....), get my yaya's out boxing, go to a lot of photography exhibitions and probably spend too much time sampling the local watering holes.

Atelier love stories...

N+S reached out to me from the West Coast of the US, nine timezones away, to see about having their wedding bands made, and also if it would be possible to use some family gold. Thankfully, time was on our side and we shipped heirloom jewelry to Berlin to go into N's ring. At the same time, I shipped two rounds of silver test rings for S to try to make absolutely sure the size and profile was correct before fabricating the ring in gold. And we did all of this over email without ever having a phone or video chat 😅 . Not for the faint of heart!

Studio trolling hard today.

Pro jewelry tip: Invest (20€) in a keyboard vacuum to collect all your dust before it blows away, de gold yourself, etc. Then treat yourself to something nice because you probably just sucked up some money. You are welcome.

A few of our most classic and enduring pieces are being retired this month, starting with the Golden Hour F— Ring.

As the sands of time continue on, the next months will be all about phasing out and rebuilding the collection. A few classic pieces will be retired forever, others redesigned with new techniques.

Starting with the first retirement party, the Golden Hour, Gold Chain Signet, and Golden Leopard will all be sunset. The solid silver versions will stay in the collection, but the gold versions are going good-bye.

We have a 1-2 smaller sizes of each in stock
