My name is Emer O'Neill and I am a visual artist, beachcomber and jewellery designer working from my home studio in East Cork. I have a degree in Fine Art and am a self taught jewellery designer. My aim is to connect you to the power of the sea through my rustic, bohemian style jewellery and contemporary Irish seascapes. Some people crave the invigorating release felt while watching fierce thunder

ing waves crash into the rocks, while others desire the tranquility that comes with listening to the gentle lapping at the water's edge. Either way, I want to bring what the sea has to offer to my customers. I create jewellery using my beachcombing finds of sea glass, sea pottery and shells, which have been carved and shaped by the sea itself. My seascapes imitate the tides, through pooling, dripping and splashing of paint. I want you to smell the tang of seaweed in the air, feel the breeze on your face, hear the waves crash to the shore and taste the saltiness on your lips. You don't need to be “good at art”. You don't even need to think you're creative.

Come along, make some marks, play with colour, have a cup of tea, listen to my guided meditation and see what happens when you give yourself a little space to make something just for the sake of making it.

There are no grades, no right answers and definitely no expectation that you're going home with a masterpiece. 😂

Just a lovely mixed group of teens and adults, some creative time, and a chance to step away from the endless doing for a bit.

Your creativity doesn't need to be taught. It just needs somewhere to land. 🍂
No experience needed. Come as you are.

What a gorgeous morning 🍂🍁 I dropped the girls off to school, then delivered a very special commission, then a stunning walk in the woods followed by a delicious coffee and sensational peanut butter oat cup by kindredcoffee.ie (you really need to try them). And then I opened my messages to see wonderful feedback coming in about my creative groups that started back yesterday 😍
Now, back to the studio to work on another special commission ✨ Magic is in the air!

I always think this is such a lovely time of year to turn inwards a little. 🍂

Summer is winding down, the evenings are getting darker, and there’s naturally a bit more space for ourselves.

It can be a really good time to start a creative practice too — but one that actually fits into your life. Something you enjoy, that gives you a bit of space to think and feel and explore. Just a little something that's yours. And no, you don't need to be 'good at art'.

There is a beautiful opportunity to learn from the shifting energy as the seasons turn. The bright, bursting, vitality of summer gives way to the slower, darkening descent of Autumn. 

As we begin to meander through the season of Autumn, when the world itself seems to be shedding its layers, let's tune in to the soulful lessons it offers.

Surrender to the unknown, and dip your toes into the enigmatic waters of the deep (ooooh I like that). Loosen your too-tight grip on.... everything! Release the weight of perfectionism, of hustle, of whatever else it is that you've been carrying around. Embrace the mystery. Embark on an adventure where the map unfolds as you go, guiding you within.

I reckon this theme is going to be, very soon, making its way into an art journal lesson. Ooooh I may even create an online version for everyone so it is accessible to people who don't live near me!  *goosebumps*
