What happens when you spend 20+ years building your own career… before coming home to the family business?

For Michael Hennelly, joining Hennelly Finance wasn’t always the plan.

After more than 25 years working across the insurance and financial services industry, Michael moved into the business his mother built over 26 years ago.

But as Michael puts it:

“It’s not taking away from what’s been done here. It’s about adding to it.”

In our latest AIBF Business Talk, Michael joins Elaine Carroll to talk about family business, succession, building his own career before joining Hennelly Finance, and the lessons he’s bringing into its next chapter.

🎙️ Coming Tuesday morning to AIBF Business Talk.

That’s what being a SuperTeam is all about.

Join us on Friday, 25 September for a practical conversation with Tom Parsons, CEO of the Gaelic Players Association, as we explore how to build stronger teams through ownership, alignment, leadership and performance.

Founded by Sheila Moffatt in 1990, the school has grown from its roots in Crossmolina into a prominent Irish dancing academy, helping dancers of all ages progress from their first steps through to world championship level.

And the results speak for themselves.

At the 2026 World Championships in Dublin, Moffatt School brought 22 solo dancers and 45 team dancers to the competition, securing 19 solo placings, including nine top-10 finishes, while three teams became World Champions.

But their success is about more than trophies.

The school creates an environment where young people can build confidence, develop friendships and connect with Irish culture - whether they choose a competitive or non-competitive path.

That combination of world-class ambition and genuine community spirit is what makes Moffatt School stand out.

Congratulations to Sheila, her team and every dancer and family who make up the Moffatt School community. 👏
