[Why Andersmann Swiss Dive Watches Stick With ETA Movements ⌚]

Many wonder why Andersmann equips its Swiss deep‑sea tool divers with ETA movements instead of alternatives.

For tool dive watches, stability, durability and serviceability outweigh fancy specs. Time‑tested ETA movements hold up reliably against deep‑sea temperature shifts and vibrations.

Parts are widely available, and watch technicians worldwide are familiar with these calibres. Servicing and repairs remain straightforward long‑term. This reflects the micro‑brand’s practical mindset: prioritising real‑world performance to build robust Swiss‑Made dive watches.

[There are many popular myths surrounding the ETA‑7750. Today we break down these common misunderstandings and reveal the facts ⏱️]

Many people assume the movement is faulty when they notice a relatively loud rotor noise. However, some operating sound from the unidirectional winding rotor is completely normal and not a manufacturing defect.
Another widespread rumour is that leaving the chronograph running for long periods will damage the movement. In fact, continuous normal chronograph operation causes no harm to the calibre, it only slightly increases power consumption.

There is also a clear performance gap between genuine and replica 7750 movements. Counterfeit versions fall far behind the original in durability, timekeeping accuracy and part compatibility.
With regular servicing, an authentic ETA‑7750 can run reliably for many years. What other rumours about the 7750 have you heard? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.

[Why is the ETA Valjoux‑7750 known as the “hard‑working workhorse” among chronograph movements? ⏱️]

If you own a chronograph fitted with the 7750 movement, you will surely appreciate its outstanding stability and reliability. This iconic calibre has a history of nearly 50 years. Built on a robust cam‑lever structure, it features a practical design and excellent shock resistance.

Numerous watch brands, big and small, adopt it as their base movement. Compared with many intricately‑structured chronograph calibres, the 7750’s biggest advantage lies in its easy maintenance and servicing. Spare parts are widely available, and watchmakers can adjust and repair it with ease.

It does not pursue overly ornate finishing, yet excels in practicality, durability and low failure rates. That explains why countless watch collectors and enthusiasts remain fond of 7750‑driven chronographs. Which 7750‑equipped watch do you own? Feel free to share in the comments.

[Daily Care Tips for Wearing Mechanical Watches]

Many small daily habits directly affect a mechanical watch’s lifespan and time‑keeping accuracy.
Avoid wearing it during strenuous exercise, as heavy shocks may shift internal gears and hairsprings, causing timing errors.
Keep it away from magnetic fields. Mobile phones, speakers and induction cookers can magnetise the movement, usually making the watch run noticeably faster.
Water‑resistance does not mean prolonged immersion. Always remove your watch before hot baths or saunas. High heat ages waterproof gaskets, leading to internal fogging from moisture.
When not worn, lay it flat or store inside a watch box, away from damp areas. Service the movement and water‑resistance check every 3‑5 years to extend its service life.
With proper daily care, a quality mechanical watch can accompany you for many years.

[Common Mechanical Watch Issues & Solutions ]

• ✅Issue: Watch runs slow/fast
Caused by magnetic interference, unregulated movement or low power reserve.
Solution: Demagnetize the movement professionally, adjust the regulator screw to fine-tune speed, and wind the watch regularly to keep full power.

• ✅Issue: Seconds hand stops or ticks irregularly
Usually from dirt buildup, worn gears or loose components.
Solution: Disassemble, clean and lubricate internal parts; replace damaged small gears if necessary.

• ✅Issue: Crown cannot be pulled out smoothly
Dirt or rust blocks the crown tube. Solution: Clean the crown and case tube gently, apply waterproof grease; avoid forcing the crown to prevent internal damage.

• ✅Issue: Moisture/fog inside the watch
Broken waterproof gasket or improper exposure to water.
Solution: Dry the watch immediately, replace worn gaskets and re-test waterproof performance professionally.

• ✅Issue: Automatic winding fails to work
Rotor stuck or worn winding mechanism.
Solution: Inspect and repair the rotor system, lubricate winding gears for smooth operation.

[Daily Habits That Unknowingly Damage Mechanical Watches]

Many watch owners believe their timepieces will perform well as long as they avoid hard knocks. Yet numerous everyday habits are silently shortening movement lifespans.

Phones, earphones and wireless chargers generate magnetism. Once a mechanical watch gets magnetized, it will run fast without showing visible signs. Wearing automatic watches during intense sports subjects gears and shock‑absorbers to repeated impact. Sudden temperature shifts and prolonged sweat exposure also age gaskets and compromise water resistance.

Damage is not only caused by drops or collisions. Simple practices such as keeping away from magnetic sources, removing watches before exercise and wiping off sweat can greatly extend watch service life.

Do any of these bad habits apply to you?
