Walking through ‘Tribute to Great Civilisations’ at Tai Kwun felt less like visiting a watch exhibition… and more like stepping into a conversation between history, art, and time itself.
What impressed me most wasn’t only the watches, but the amount of craftsmanship and cultural storytelling condensed into something that fits on the wrist.
From engraving to enamel, stone work to miniature decorative arts, every dial felt closer to a museum piece than a traditional timepiece. Seeing ancient civilisations reinterpreted through haute horlogerie in collaboration with the Louvre gave the entire experience a different depth.
A reminder that great watchmaking is not only about precision, it’s also about preserving beauty, heritage, and human creativity across generations.
