These earrings come as a follow-up of my latest neckpiece. ( I thought this effect would be nice in earrings,too- most probably there will be a bracelet following and completing the set!😊)
Anyway,these are made of polymer clay and embellished with a piece of silk shantung textile.
The focal bead is also polymer clay surrounded with gold foil for extra brilliance and contrast.
An effort to imitate ceramic porcelain.

Αυτά τα σκουλαρίκια αποτελούν τη συνέχεια του πιο πρόσφατου κολιέ μου. (Σκέφτηκα ότι αυτό το στυλ θα ταίριαζε πολύ και σε σκουλαρίκια – πιθανότατα θα ακολουθήσει και ένα βραχιόλι για να ολοκληρωθεί το σετ! 😊)
Είναι φτιαγμένα από πολυμερικό πηλό και διακοσμημένα με ένα κομμάτι μεταξωτό ύφασμα shantung.
Η κεντρική χάντρα είναι επίσης από πολυμερικό πηλό, περιτριγυρισμένη από φύλλο χρυσού για επιπλέον λάμψη και αντίθεση.
Μια προσπάθεια απομίμησης της πορσελάνης.

This polymer clay pendant is an attempt to imitate ceramic porcelain,which I love very much. The focal stone is also of polymer clay surrounded with gold leaf for extra shine and contrast.I also love fabric,so I thought of adding a little detail of silk shantung at the top of the piece which I think,gives some kind of elegance.
Hope it's a piece that makes a statement,what do you think?
Σ'αυτό το περιδέραιο προσπάθησα να μιμηθώ την κεραμική πορσελάνη σε πολυμερή πηλό.Η πέτρα είναι επίσης από πολυμερή πηλό,πλαισιωμένη από φύλλα χρυσού για λάμψη και αντίθεση.Αγαπω και το ύφασμα,οπότε σκέφτηκα να προσθέσω μια λεπτομέρεια με μεταξωτό σαντούκ το οποίο δίνει μια έξτρα φινέτσα,νομίζω.
Ελπίζω να είναι ένα κομμάτι που δεν περνάει απαρατήρητος,τι λέτε;

Αυτό το περιδέραιο από πολυμερή πηλό ήρθε να συμπληρώσει τα σκουλαρίκια και το δαχτυλίδι της προηγούμενης ανάρτησης...τώρα ολοκλήρωσα τον συνδυασμό αυτών των χρωμάτων...
( μεταλλικόςπολυμερής πηλός σε χρυσό πράσινο και ματζέντα,διακόσμηση με θρυμματισμένα κρυσταλλάκια.
Κρέμεται σε στριφτό κορδόνι!!)

Calla lilies again for this custom made pair of earrings.In bright green and magenta metallic polymer clay,they make a perfect match for summer outfit,I think!!I loved their colour combination,so I think I will come up with a neckpiece soon!!

Αυτό το statement βραχιόλι έρχεται ως συνέχεια του περιδέραιου με κρίνους που έφτιαξα πριν λίγο καιρό.Στιβαρό,αλλά κομψό και θηλυκό,έτσι όπως τυλίγεται γύρω από τον καρπό!!

Inspired by the organic lines of calla lilies, this handcrafted polymer clay statement neckpiece combines sculpture with contemporary jewelry. A rather demanding work,as it involved metal embedding,sculpting,multiple curing stages,emphasis on each and every detail and finishing with lots of sanding and buffing so that the brilliance of metallic clay stands out.

Delicate,yet strong,it's lightweight and comfortable to wear,I think it's an elegant,wearable work of art!

«Εμπνευσμένο από τις οργανικές γραμμές των κάλλας (κρίνων), αυτό το χειροποίητο statement κολιέ από πολυμερικό πηλό συνδυάζει τη γλυπτική με το σύγχρονο κόσμημα. Πρόκειται για μια αρκετά απαιτητική εργασία, καθώς περιελάμβανε εγκλεισμό μετάλλου, γλυπτική, πολλαπλά στάδια ψησίματος, έμφαση σε κάθε λεπτομέρεια και φινίρισμα με πολύ τρίψιμο και γυάλισμα, ώστε να αναδειχθεί η λάμψη του μεταλλικού πηλού.Ευαίσθητο, αλλά ανθεκτικό είναι ελαφρύ κι άνετο στη χρήση, πιστεύω ότι είναι ένα κομψό, φορέσιμο έργο τέχνης!

This statement polymer clay neckpiece is a study on ancient Egyptian alabaster,which I thought would match the acanthus leaves of the design.Each part of the piece has been laboriously worked by hand(multiple sanding,buffing, wax polishing) so that it lets the light go through the tranlucent layers of clay,thus highlighting the golden striations,characteristic of ancient Egyptian Alabaster.
Successfully rendered or not,I would call this necklace α wearable " faux alabaster" piece of sculpture that connects the past with the present!

.....Αυτό το περιδέραιο είναι αποτέλεσμα μιας σπουδής πάνω στο αρχαίο Αιγυπτιακό αλάβαστρο,που θεωρώ ότι ταιριάζει με τα φύλλα ακάνθου του σχεδίου.Το κάθε κομμάτι έχει δουλευτεί στο χέρι,με πολλαπλά γυαλίσματα,και φινίρισμα με κερί,ώστε να αναδειχθουν η ημιδιαφάνεια και οι χρυσές διαστρωματώσεις, χαρακτηριστικό του αρχαίου Αιγυπτιακού αλάβαστρου!!

This statement neckpiece ,my first of the year,is a follow- up of the velvet effect pieces I made at the end of last year.
This time the velvet effect lies in a relief ,glittered, floral form on metallic gold polymer clay surface.The endings are also made with the same technique.It's hanging on four rows of black,faceted beads!!

Το πρώτο της χρονιάς,αυτό το περιδέραιο,είναι συνέχεια του εφέ βελούδου που έφτιαξα στο τέλος της προηγούμενης.Εδώ το εφέ βελούδου είναι σε ανάγλυφο,φλόραλ μοτίβο πάνω σε χρυσό μεταλλικό, πολυμερή πηλό.Το ίδιο ισχύει και για το κούμπωμα.
Κρέμεται σε τέσσερις σειρές ταγιέ,μαύρες χαντρούλες.
