Metamorphosis Designs was founded by Cara Graham who originally started using real butterflies found from years of antique hunting, car booting and charity shop digging. The use of butterflies started in her paintings while studying at York Saint John University and the idea to use butterflies in jewellery came naturally as due to the fragile nature of these lovely insects sometimes wings would be

damaged and could not be used in the paintings. All butterflies used come from either vintage decorative items or are sourced from Sanctuaries over the world and have all been allowed to live a natural life.
