Kumamoto part 2/2

Learning about the history of Kumamoto castle and its people was inspiring. The most recent 2016 earthquake severely damaged the castle but not its people’s spirit. Today the main keeps have reopened and stand tall symbolizing the people’s strength and unity, but restoration work continues for other crumbled parts.

Hello from Japan 🇯🇵❤️

We’ve been doing lots of exploring and driving around Kyushu. This third largest island in Japan is so underrated and truly a gem! As much as we love where the golden route takes us, we’ve really been enjoying a more quiet and slower side of Japan.

This country has so much to offer and we’re so grateful to be able to see these lesser known parts for ourselves. I’ll be posting more of our travels ☺️

After days of rain and clouds, we made a spontaneous trip to see the flowers in bloom today. Seeing these cherry blossoms makes me even MORE excited for Japan next month!

Plants will always fascinate me. They are delicate yet strong, offering us oxygen, nutrients and homes to wildlife. Beautiful in a myriad of colours, shapes and forms 🌳🌸💛

We’re convinced that this trail is one of the most stunning and intense fall hike we’ve ever done. Each lookout only got better and better.

The early morning, long drive, six hours of hiking and elevation gain may have exhausted our bodies but we’re extra thankful to be able to explore this bit of Algonquin on Thanksgiving 💛🍂
