Here is my Day 3: I spent some time in Egypt travelling around and exploring temples and was always drawn to the beautiful so I decided to recreate this in my jewellery. I made one using a and my mother loved it so much that I made her this one with .

Here is my Day 2: This was made recently, this gorgeous Turquoise really caught my eye and I love the stepped bezel setting to really enhance the stone. The texture I made using the hammering technique, I made this piece for myself x😁x

Here is my Day 1: The piece is made by using the Keum-boo technique (the ancient Korean art of gilding 24ct gold to silver) i had so much fun making this and learning this technique with fellow silversmiths. It is a reminder of a really lovely day x

DAY 13 Signature Style.
When I make a piece, I generally just go with my flow. There is never usually a plan it's more of a feeling so I can be sure that I am in every piece that I make. Looking back on my pieces with today's subject in mind, I would say that my signature style would probably be summed up with texture and colour.
My signature style I feel is still evolving... But then don't we all continuously evolve? I'm sure my style will change in the future but for now I am loving creating these kinds of styles.

DAY 12 Focus and Priorities...
Running your own business (or two) can sometimes get a little overwhelming and the work that goes in to each and every day can sometimes feel like it's piliing up and up.... But I do have to say I absolutely love it. I love each and every aspect of my businesses and the freedom to make time when I need it to take care of myself and my family. I love the time I spend in the woodlands, by the lakes getting grounded and refocusing my efforts and setting my priorities.

DAY 8 Your Brand....

So As well as being my name (admittedly reversed) I was named after some very influential people in my life. My aunt and grandmother. These beautiful people were self motivated and always put themselves out there for others, gave people joy and encouragement and just to have had them in my life was such an honour. So to remember them and drive their memory I use my name as I am proud to be associated with such amazing women.

DAY 5 Evolution
So the fist picture is from 13 years ago and the second is from 3 days ago... The evolution of materials is apparent but the use of colour is constant. The inspiration is and always will be the colours of nature. Rather than using synthetic products I now only use ethical and sustainable materials. A piece of jewellery evolves as I look and work with it. Each stone has a feel and a story to me and I try and interpret that in my designs. I suppose my designs evolve as my story evolves.

DAY 4 The human touch..... So where possible I draw my inspiration from nature..... The impression is always in my head but like many others I need help to put it in to a physical item.... When working with new materials I'm not afraid to ask for help... I have found this help in the form of workshops. has been my rock and inspiration along with but most of all my go to support person who has always lifted me, grounded me and aided with any business conundrums, fed me coffee, brain stormed with me, and generally laughed at me when I got it all wrong has been without your madness I would not have got through this craziness.

DAY-1 OK so I am running late and playing catch up majorly over the weekend... But let's finally get this party started...

The Story..... So almost 13 years ago after my son was born I was unable to work for a time, It was a struggle as I had always worked and was going crazy being at home all of the time. I was lucky that we lived near the beach so would go strolling a lot but the spark to do something more and to redefine my identity was ignited and would turn in to a fire that raged.
I started by making simple colourful beaded jewellery, I was lucky that I had supportive family members who supported my new venture. I started small on what I could afford but wanted to create something sustainable that would last and give joy to those who wore it. So Maggie Lane was born... I was creative for a couple of years until we moved up to the Midlands then Maggie Lane had to take a nap while I went back to work full time. Juggling full time work (sometimes 20 hour days), childcare, being a mummy and wife took its toll and unfortunately my health suffered again so with the support of my wonderful husband we decided that I needed a change. Then lock down...... I was just starting to build my self employed business and work dried up. Anyway.... Too much sitting at home, watching and and then walking through the gorgeous surrounding woodland, the spark was reignited. Upholstery, tile printing, soap making and a plethora of other hobby's came to light but one was missing... Then a couple of years ago and.. boom..... While have a spring clean I found all of my jewellery making supplies and I just could not face having to put them all away again. A corner in my workshop was cleared and the design process began again. Maggie Lane was woken from her hibernation and now the fire rages again.
