Simon will be going down tomorrow morning to continue work in Chance's forecabin, so if you wish to pop round to see him working on the boat, you could have a cuppa and a chat about what he is doing on the boat.

In this video you can clearly see that there as been some major movement between the stem the forefoot and the keel at the bow of the boat. Over the years owners in the past have put more caulking and putty in the seams to stop any leaking and not looked at the curse of the problem. However, now we have the time and the people to work on solving the problem and getting to the root of the problem. We can find out the cause and fix the problem and put the parts back in the correct position and sort out the hood ends of the planks which are not fitting the stem correctly.

Also in the video Simon shows the amount of work he and his small team of friends and family have to overcome. Much of the work is being undertaken by Simon alone at the moment between his day job as a full time boat builder and family commitments. Also on limited funds it is taking time to get the money together to purchase materials.

These updates are of the restoration of Chance our James Silver Western Isles Motorsailer, now that we have Chance at Titchmarsh Marina in Walton on the Naze...
